Day 15 - Fit Test

Today was my first fit test! (it should be the second, but I skipped the first, shame on me!) It was pretty hard, but I don't think I did too badly. I would like to see how it would have changed if I had done it the first time, but oh well. Above are my recorded numbers, but my handwritten is terrible so here is what it says:

Switch Kicks: 92
Power Jacks: 49
Power Knees: 100
Power Jumps: 25
Globe Jumps: 12
Suicide Jumps: 12
Push Up Jacks: 4
Low Plank Obliques: 27

So we'll see how much it improves next fit test!

I also weighed myself this morning and I was at 150.8! I know I could just be fluctuating, the body fluctuates 2 pounds regularly, but regardless that's less than what I started with, so that means something's happening and I'm very excited!

Last night I wanted to work out. And this morning I woke up ready to put some shoes on for a hard workout! That's unusual for me - normally I have to force myself to work out. It felt really nice to wake up this morning and want to work out. I hope I keep this feeling. I was actually a little bummed about waking up and only getting to do the fit test - I wanted to do something really hard. By the end of the workout, I wanted to do more, and didn't notice I was dripping sweat! I think I may have changed my opinion of a hard workout thanks to Insanity!

Day 14 - Too much fruit?

Well, today I called my mother to ask her a question about weather or not I eat too much fruit . . . I read online that I should limit my fruit intake because of the simple sugars in it - yet I love fruit so much! I probably eat about three servings of fruit and two servings of veggies a day. I would much rather eat fruit than veggies, and I always thought they were healthy, so the idea of eating too many blew my mind!

So I called my mom, health expert extraordinare! (or at least she likes to think she is haha) She said that I probably do have it upside down and that I should probably eat more veggies as opposed to fruits - something like two fruits a day and three servings of veggies. She did say that fruits are vital too, though. That there's a lot of fiber to help with digestion and tons of nutrients. She said that she thinks its fine unless I get close to my goal weight and I stop losing weight, then maybe I should eat more veggies, but until then I'm fine! So keep the fruit coming! Which is great since I bought this bag of delicious grapes the other day that must be eaten!

Today was my day off of working out and it was really nice and pretty relaxing. I used the time to talk to teachers and clean my apartment and have my friend come over for dinner (where we made some more of those delicious burgers!) without having to worry about working out. Tomorrow though I'm back to the grind! Its my first Fit Test. I wish I would have taken the first one so that I'd have something to compare this to, but I really wanted to jump straight in. Oh well. We'll know for next time now :)

I have also wondered about why my muscles aren't ever sore. I workout my hardest and I always pour sweat and I work to the point that I can't do anymore - I literally collapse on the ground. I read today that I might not get sore because I drink a protein shake directly after working out. Someone posted that protein after working out is great for your muscles and keeps them from being sore. I have a feeling its more of that and less of my great stretching! Anyways, it was something interesting to think about and something I think I'll keep doing since it seems to work!

Day 13 - Twice the workout, twice the fun! (not really)

Here's last week's food tracker! I did well the last four days. The earlier days were on vacation with my family with the "eat shit or starve" options . . . but oh well. I've got this week going better :)

Today was a really difficult workout - Pure Cardio followed by Cardio Abs. It was my first time having the two together and it was difficult! In the future, I need to remember to wait more than five minutes going from Pure Cardio to starting Cardio Abs. I'm thinking at least half an hour to maybe even an hour. I think I won't sweat much since its so short and its mostly on the floor, so maybe I could even do Pure Cardio in the morning and Cardio Abs in the night. Having done them back to back made me too tired to put a really good effort into Cardio Abs - and I really want those abs!

I read most of Freddie's The Eat Clean Diet for Men, because it has different things in it than what's in the Eat Clean Diet book. It was pretty interesting. I got to read about supplements and how to raise a libido! Haha! His definitely has better recipes. Maybe I like to eat like a man, who knows? I was raised on meat and BBQ - go midwest food!

Tomorrow I'm going to have Katie and Alexa over for dinner to finish off those really good burgers. They need to be made before they go bad and I'm looking forward to having people over. Freddie left today and I miss him already. My motivation man will have to push me from a distance. Freddie has decided to Eat Clean with me to be healthy, so I'm excited for my new partner in crime to come in the fall!

No workout tomorrow! I'm looking forward to that! My fit test is Wednesday - I didn't do the first one and I regret that, but oh well, moving on. I finished a whole two weeks! I'm proud of myself! Freddie says he can see some differences, they're subtle, but there. I hope with keeping up the good eating that I'll be able to see more differences in the future!

Day 12 - sick in the morning and working in the evening!

Freddie doesn't like the sweaty LeeAnn! I couldn't convice Freddie to work out with me, but I got him to take a sweaty picture with me. :)

Well, today I almost didn't make it to work out. I was really sick this morning and spent almost all of it on the toilet. I didn't start feeling better until the evening. After dinner I realized that I was feeling well enough to work out and I managed to fit it in right before quiet hours! I did Cardio Power and Resistance tonight. Every time I do these work outs, they get easier, but they're never easy. I was able to keep up more tonight than I have been in the past. Freddie got to watch me cheer myself on as I worked - I think he got a pretty decent laugh out of it. Maybe by the end of the month, I'll be able to keep up with the people in the video!

Me and Freddie made an awesome dinner out of the Eat Clean Diet For Men that Freddie bought for himself. He's going to read it over the break and we're going to both be in it together in the fall! We made her burgers and home fries with baked beans. It was really healthy and delicious at the same time! We bought more meat than we needed, though, there was too much for us to eat - we filled upright away! We'll have to cook the rest of it tomorrow for lunch.

Today I finished a page of the Eat Clean Companion so I'll post that tomorrow. Tomorrow is also the last day of week two! I'm hanging strong! I'm quite proud of myself! :)

Day 11 - Team Freddie and LeeAnn

Today me and Freddie did Cardio Recovery. Its the easiest workout in the Insanity program, and Freddie's first one. He felt the burn in his buns and abs! He whined, bu he said he felt accomplished afterwards! We'll see how he likes Cardio Power and Resistance tomorrow!

I'm trying really hard to get back on the eating right, and Freddie's eating what I eat too :) We're going to a movie tonight and I'm going to pack my own popcorn - I can't resist having popcorn!

Day 10 - Motivation

How sweaty and messy I get after Insanity always makes me laugh - so I took a picture this time. It doesn't do the dripping sweat justice, but I like it :) It makes me feel good.

I had a rough time motivating myself today. I stayed up until 3:30am last night finishing homework and then had class at 8:30am until 3:30pm. I was so exhausted that I came back to my room and crashed. I got up an hour later, but I was still groggy and slow moving. I sat at my computer for at least an hour before I forced myself to really get my mind in the game. Today was the hardest of all of them (in my opinion at least) Plyometric Cardio Circuit.

I started looking up Insanity youtube video results and reviews and see what other people were saying about it and that motivated me enough to get off my chair. After that, I had a slow start. I was tired and had little energy, but about 2/3rds of the way through I remembered those result videos and what I wanted for myself and I told myself that if I didn't push through this with all my strength that I would never get the results I want. So I pushed myself off the ground (literally) and went back to push ups. I made that last 1/3rd worth everything. I worked hard and I sweated like an animal. But now I'm sitting here, typing this, feeling extremely accomplished! I hope to remember this feeling for my next workouts - but that doesn't change that I'm excited for an easier workout tomorrow with Cardio Recovery!

Other than that, I did manage to eat really well today so far. My body is trying to get used to all the fiber again - I'm feeling bloated a lot and spending quite a bit of time on the toilet. I can't wait to get back to my body being used to it, it's not my favorite time right now.

Freddie's coming back in tonight and I'm super excited to see him - he's my best motivation! Always with "You can do it!" "Don't eat that!" and so on. He does want to be a bad influence tonight though - he wants ramen! I'm going to order a small sashimi platter and some seaweed salad I think to stay on my diet. I shan't cave into ramen twice in one week!

Oh, and I posted the Insanity Calendar on the side of the blog to keep track and make sure I don't miss a day!

Day 9 - last weeks food tracker

Well, I've been saying for the last couple of days when I get home, I'd post my first food week tracker of the summer! I did okay until the last day of the week . . . you can start seeing the effect of Monteray where I accidently ordered fried fish and wasn't able to eat as much as I should . . . The food tracker from this week is off to a rocky start too. The last three days of Monteray were really bad with the whole "eat shit or starve" options. But I'm back on it today since I grabbed some groceries last night with my sisters, and shall be moving forward! I plan on being really strict the rest of the week. I'm making BBQ chicken for my sandwich tomorrow for class in my new mini crockpot - I hope it turns out well! And tonight is Pure Cardio - which will be hard, but today I feel like I have the energy for it! Hopefully I'll have energy after class tomorrow to finish Plyometric Cardio Ciruit tomorrow night!

May the force be with me!
