Day 8

Alrighty . . . well today was a rough day. I made it back in San Francisco just in time for class, which I was almost late to. Because of all that, today's eating was rough. I didn't get the right food to get the energy I needed to do my workout well, not to mention a 6 hour acting class before hand can really take it out of you. I then went out to eat with my sisters and made the bad decision to eat ramen . . . I went and bought some food late tonight at Cala foods so that I could have some produce in my house - since all mine from before was gone due to being with my family. But my family leaves early friday morning and tomorrow I'm back on and going strong! woo!

Day 7

Being on vacation with my diet really sucks. I want to eat well, but we have to eat out all the time and since mom is paying, I'm at the mercy od what everyone else wants and what's near... Going out for dinner and all isn't the big problem because I'm pretty good about my choices when were sitting down at a restaurant. The problem comes when I'm out with my sisters and mom and I get choices like 'eat this or starve'... Yesterday was ice cream or starve and today was burger king or starve and there's no way to buffer those choices and make them okay. I choose not to starve, thinking not eating was worse, but I'm not sure. :/ I'm excited to get back to my appartment and have more control over my food. I am going to have to buy produce. It's all gone bad whatever I had left. Feeding my sisters when they're with me may be more difficult but definately doable. I've promised Tasha ramen, I'll just eat sushi. :) I'm excited to have them over.

Working out has been significantly easier while being away. I haven't missed a day of insanity. I'm enjoying my day off but am still excited for tomorrow! I don't remember what day tomorrow is, but I'll probably post the calendar sometime soon, along with my week one Eat Clean Companion. I'm on week two and quite proud! :) I can't wait to trudge forward and see results!!!

Day 5 and Day 6

I survived week one! I've been eating probably 80% right - my family being here has made it hard. Today I worked out in the hotel and tomorrow is my day off! I'm going to enjoy that!

Yesterday I almost didn't get my workout done, but I knew that if I didn't do it, I'd really regret it later and probably be to tired to do it at night. I had planned to wake up at 8, eat, and then work out at 9 and be ready to go by 10. My alarm didn't go off and I woke up at 9:15! I ran around, kicked Tasha awake, put some Quinoa in the rice cooker to cook while I worked out, and instructed Tasha on how to get us ready to go! It was quite the chore, but totally worth it! Tasha was a lot of help, so that was great. She helped me cut up fruit and all for the car ride, packed my bags, and helped with various other things too, it was great! I still haven't gotten her to work out with me yet though - one thing at a time I guess!

We're in Monteray and its super pretty here. Last night was an art fair and there was kettle corn there, being my family we HAD to get some. My sister convinced them that we needed the biggest one they could buy. My biggest weakness keeps staring at me from across the room - I must remain strong! I refuse to let that come home with me - they'll be taking that giant bag of popcorn on the airplane one way or another!

Last night was my biggest fail of eating all week. I made an exception since dad took the family out to a super fancy restaurant with a fantastic view! I tried to be a little good at least and got a shrimp and crab dinner over pasta. Little did I know that it was fried shrimp! (best fried shrimp I've ever had though!) So I ate too much of bad food last night, but I hope to go back strong today!

Day 4

Well, after hanging with the family it wasn't a great day of eating, but I could have done a lot worse. They ate a lot of crap and I really held myself back. I ate only three tiny fried calamaris, one french fry, and a couple bites of ice cream. I probably didn't get enough veggies, because at one meal I was only able to eat small shrimp, nothing else . . . something to keep in mind for tomorrow. I missed my veggies!

On top of my Cardio Recovery we walked all day! All the way to the warf and back, up and down hills. It was pretty nice - the warf isnt as bad of a walk as I thought it was going to be.

I'm concerned about when I leave town with my family because we'll be in a hotel room and I doubt there'll be enough room for me to do insanity. I'm bring it still just in case, but we'll see.

I've gotta run to bed, tomorrow I've gotta do insanity bright and early! I'm getting a little concerned with the early and late hours I've been doing it lately that I might disrupt my neighbors, but I haven't gotten a noise complaint yet, so I'm going to trudge ahead until they say something - while still trying to be respectful of quiet hours. After the family is gone, I'll be able to go back to doing it during the day.

Its going to be an uphill battle the rest of the week to try to stay on this - may the force be with me!

Before Pictures

Cover your eyes - its not pretty!

This is where I am now, but I hope to look much better at the end of the two month Insanity program and continuously eating clean! I had to force myself to get Tasha's help taking these pictures - it pains me to see them >_<>

I did the Cardio Recovery today and it wasn't as bad as I was worried it would be. I could see why Ashley would think it's really hard - its a lot of stretching! The squats were pretty hard too, it worked my legs good, but over all, I liked it :) Tomorrow is Pure Cardio I know mom likes that one, so we'll see how it goes!

Today I weighed myself and i sat at 153lbs - down 2 lbs. Hopefully the pounds continue to come off!

Day 3 - Funnel Cakes denied!

Today I surprised myself and it feels pretty good! :)

I had a class field trip to a county fair to draw the livestock and show animals, and of course there were tons of temptations! BBQ, Cotton Candy, and worst of all FUNNEL CAKES! It took all my will and Alexa's coaching to keep me out of the funnel cakes! I knew I'd regret it if I ate it, and worked really hard! I instead ate all the food I packed - which was a significant amount! I had planned ahead. I needed two meals if I was going to make it through the long day drawing. It got pretty heavy, but it also got lighter the more I ate!

After the field trip, walking in the sun and working all day, I was pretty wiped, but I had to entertain the family and go out to eat with them. We went to get sushi. So I ate some unagi, sashimi, miso soup, seaweed salad, and a little bit of rice. It was probably more than I needed to eat, but at least it was healthy. Next time I'll be more careful with proportions - but I don't get to go eat sashimi too often, so I was pretty excited!

After hanging with the family some (and my dad determining that my snes is officially broken :( ) they all left around 9. The quiet hours didn't start for another hour, so I squeezed in a 40 min insanity workout while my sister played Tekken. I barely finished before quiet hours kicked in!

Today I did Cardio Power and Ressistance which wasn't as bad as yesterday. The power squats were hell, but I got through it with significantly less groaning than yesterday. Tomorrow I have to wake up and do Cardio Recovery which according to Ashley, isn't much of a recovery - so I'm a little nervous!

Oh yeah, and tomorrow I'm going to get Tasha to help me take before pictures - as much as it pains me! I don't want to do it now after I'm all tired and bloated from eating all day.

It'll be hard to keep this up while my family is here, but the force is strong with me!

plantains

Well, I was craving platanos, which are entirely unhealthy and so I started looking up some recipes and found this - with a little bit of cinnamon, it's awesome!

Day 1 - 2

I'm using The Eat Clean Diet by Tosca Reno as an eating guide while doing Insanity by Beachbody. Its a two month long program, and I hope that by using it with The Eat Clean Diet, to get most of the results that I want by the end of two months.

Current weight: 155lbs
Measurements:
Chest: 37.5
Waist: 31.75
Right thigh: 21
Left Thigh: 20.75
Right Calf: 15
Left Calf: 15
Hips: 38
Right arm

Left Arm:

My goals for my physical appearance:
I want to look leaner, stronger, and healthier. I want to be comfortable in a swimsuit.

My goals for my health and wellness:
I want to eat better and feel better. I want more energy in my daily activities. I want to stop craving junk food.

My goals for my strength and fitness:
I want to be lean and toned, I want to lose at least 20lbs and keep it off. I would also like a tighter butt and thighs.

Insanity Workout
I skipped the fit test, though I'm sure I should have probably done it to keep record. I went straight into Plyometric Cardio Circuit. It was really intense and I couldn't keep up with the video. I had to take extra short breaks. I sweat all over my carpet and my neighbors probably were wondering what the hell I was doing, but it wasn't that bad. We'll see how sore I am tomorrow!

Tomorrow is Cardio Power and Resistance. I'm going to have to work hard to figure out a time when I can do it because my family will be coming into town that night, and I'd have to do it right away in order to be within the quiet hours of my building . . . or maybe I'll see if mom's hotel has a gym with a dvd player. I'm going to try to do it right away when I get back from class around 5:30-6.

Diet
I have realized my biggest downfall is definitely the kettle corn I have left over from visiting Freddie in LA. I find myself drawn to it and eating it without even realizing it! Today I'm going to try to make a run to Target and buy a healthier popcorn. I may have to get my friend to take the kettle corn away from me - I don't think I have the strength to throw it away myself!

I've been doing well the last couple days, my one mess up has been the kettle corn. I'm going to try really hard to deny myself of that! I'm keeping track in my Eat Clean Diet Companion. Going to classes shouldn't be a problem - there is a break before every three hours, so I'm going to try to time it out so that I eat inbetween those. Field trips are going to be more difficult because there's no microwave. For my field trip tomorrow I"m thinking I'll make a chicken tonight and put it on two slices of ezikiel bread and bring a fruit. I will also need a snack - maybe the other half of my pepper that I bought from whole foods.

I know KC laughs at my cooler bag, but I think it was one of the best buys I've had in a long time! Its helped with my past two classes so much! We'll see how it comes in handy tomorrow on a field trip to the fair.

May the force be with me! I'll post before pictures tonight *shiver*
